Here's an update on a recent poor air quality event that occurred overnight, and the complaints that have arisen since the PA Department of Environmental Protection approved the permit for Panther Creek Power to burn tires and tire-derived fuel. Since June 12, Save Carbon County has heard concerns from residents in Lake Hauto and Lake Hauto Estates about the odor of burning chemicals/burning tires/burning plastic and the buildup of black soot on their exterior decking. Please tell a neighbor and a friend that if you smell something, say something. Call the PA-DEP Complaint line at 866-255-5158, then call Save Carbon County at 570-676-2644 and leave a message. We are tracking all complaints. You can see the air quality in your area at https://map.purpleair.com/air-quality-standards-us-epa-aqi?opt=%2F1%2Fa%2Flp%2Fa43200%2Fp7776000%2FcC0#11/40.8246/-75.6909
