Speaking up to Save our Streams and Forests!

Thanks to Save Carbon County members, our friends in Love Kidder Township, and the Aquashicola-Pohopoco Watershed Conservancy (APWC) for speaking out against Mora Solar's proposed construction of a massive solar farm between Mosey Wood Road and State Route 940. The project will clear-cut 390 acres of forest and destroy Lehigh River tributaries in the Fourth Run and Black Creek. To be clear, Save Carbon County supports clean, renewable energy but not at the cost of pristine wilderness, clean water, and Exceptional Value trout fisheries. Turn-out was excellent at the public hearing hosted by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. 75 residents who oppose the development attended the public hearing. Speaking for Save Carbon County were Lucy Freck, Steve Chuckra, Linda Christman, and Roy Christman. Members Jim Vogt and Carolyn Lange spoke on behalf of the APWC. Love Kidder Township was represented by several speakers.
