Solar power offers alternative energy that is becoming more popular. Installing solar panels where they can add the most value like on rooftops and in parking lots make good sense. Clear cutting 390 acres of pristine forest to install a solar farm does not make any sense. Once a forest is gone, it's gone forever. A forest isn't just trees, it's the incredible ecosystem that thrives in the forest and we must speak out before it's too late. The Mora Solar project proposes to clear 390 acres of hilly, forested terrain near Lake Harmony to install a solar farm. The proposed project will impact the following streams: Fourth Run (High Quality), Shingle Mill Run (High Quality) and Black Creek (High Quality). The PA Department of Environmental Protection is hosting a public hearing on Tuesday, June 23rd at 6 PM at the Jim Thorpe Area High School Gym. We need you to show up and speak up about this threat to our forest, water, and wildlife. If you can testify at the hearing, please submit a written notice of intent to Patrica Monahan, Community Relations Coordinator, pamonahan@pa.gov. Savers need to be there in force to show up and speak out against this travesty!
