Deer Season, Dear Season?

As I sat in the woods today dusted by a light snow and accompanied by a solitary woodpecker, a stately doe and her two yearling fawns, and a spike buck, the world seemed almost dead. Winter is upon us, and although the earth might seem a lifeless brown, spring will come, and with it the lush greenery, brightly colored birds on their summer migration, and vibrant life the likes of which many people on earth never see. We live in a magical place full of amazing transformations, but there is an uncomfortable feeling that we can't count on the same for our children. Our call is to endure the winter and fight for the spring that we cannot yet see but still know exists - for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. Save Carbon County is dedicated to saving what we love about our county by bringing people and ideas together to advocate for clean air, water, and soil. We fight for the Lehigh River, Beltzville Reservoir, Mauch Chunk Lake, numerous creeks, farmlands, woods, and clean air that residents take for granted and that tourists pay top-dollar to enjoy. We fight to preserve what we have today to ensure the same for future generations. We are proud residents and friends of Carbon County who established this non-profit 501(c)(4) organization and appreciate your support.
