Save Carbon County is committed to our community. Good air quality is essential for the health of everyone in Carbon County. After smelling noxious odors and burning tires, we decided to do something about our air quality. We first needed a way to measure whether there was any pollution in the air. In 2024, we installed 14 PurpleAir air quality monitors that report on air quality 24/7. Everyone can see the air quality in Carbon County by visiting the www.purpleair.com website. Then, in 2025, we added an AeroQual Series 500 portable handheld monitor to measure the specific types of pollutants in the air. We want to ensure that our children and future generations benefit from clean air. Most recently, we developed a PowerPoint presentation that explains why the air we breathe is so important. This is the first in a series of informational presentations and is intended for children ages 8-10. If you would like to schedule a presentation and demonstration of the PurpleAir and AeroQual monitors, please get in touch with Save Carbon County at 570-676-2644.
